Humus was created by Caro Degryse following 30 years of experience in the travel and tourism industry. An expert in product development, contracting, people management and operations, she focuses on ROI, long term value and win win propositions. She held senior management roles in large international as well as niche outbound and incoming tour operators and destination management companies in Europe and the Middle East.

As certified professional trainer, she creates and conducts vocational training programmes to prepare candidates for various tourist service provider roles.

Sustainability is part of her daily life, and she holds certificates in Sustainable Business and Tourism from Cambridge University, Global Sustainable Tourism Council; Green Globe and is trained as B-Leader (B-Corp). She is facilitator for awareness workshops Climate Fresk, Biodiversity Collage, Mobility Collage, Water Collage and 2 Tonnes.

She speaks Dutch, French, English, Arabic and some German & Spanish.
